Golf Competition
At Buenos Aires 2018
A radiant sun lit up the golf green
on the third day of mixed team competitions in Hurlingham Club, where the
Argentine pair Ela Anacona and Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira won the bronze
medal.
The Argentine duo’s scorecard had
138 strokes in the third round, and a total of 273 (-7).
"I love playing as a team, we
did well from the first hole until the 18th. Luckily, we complement each other
well and this is the result,” said Fernandez de Oliveira. "Having the
medal is a huge satisfaction, we are very happy."
Meanwhile, his team partner Anacona
credited their frequent, joint training sessions for their success.
Thailand’s Atthaya Thitikul and
Vanchai Luangnitikul proved the best overall during the three days of
competition. They had a combined score of 140 strokes in the third round and
268 in total (-12). Behind them by only one stroke were the US golfers Lucy Li
and Akshay Bhatia.
The golf format varied over the
three days of competition at Buenos Aires 2018. First it was four-ball, then
foursome, and lastly, individual stroke play (cumulative).
