Taekwondoin Defia Rosmaniar has won
Indonesia’s first Asian Games gold medal after coming out on top in the
taekwondo women's individual Poomsae category.
Defia, with a score of 8.690, won gold after
beating IR Iran’s Marjan Salahshouri 8.470 score in a match at JCC Senayan,
Jakarta, Sunday.
Defia advanced to the semifinals after
strong showings in the knockouts and quarterfinals.
In the round 16, Defia beat Wong Kai Yu of
Hong Kong, while in the quarterfinals, she defeated Tuyet Van Chau of Vietnam.
In the semifinals, she ousted Jihye Yun of
South Korea (KOR).
Defia was born 23 years ago on May 25, 1995.
She has a height of 167 centimeters and weighs 51 kilograms.
