The Indonesia women's sepak takraw team in
the 2018 Asian Games lost to Myanmar with a score of 1-2.
In the first set, which took place on the
third floor of Ranau Hall Jakabaring Sport City (JSC), Palembang, on Sunday,
Indonesia excelled and won the match through the first team, featuring twins
Lena-Leni and Dini Mita Sari.
But in the second set, Cristy Florensia,
Kusnelia and Nur Isni of Indonesia faced a strong challenge from Myanmar’s Nan
Su Myat San, Nant Yin Yin Myint and Ya Mong Zan. The score ended 1-1 in the
second set.
Continuing with the third set, Myanmar
further demonstrated their aggressiveness by dropping one of their key players,
Khin Nin Wai, along with Nyein Chan Thu and Su Yee Htet. They faced Indonesia,
consisting of Maharani Widowati, Akyko Micheel Kapito and Rini Susanti. Myanmar
excelled over Indonesia, with the match ending 2-1 for Myanmar.
Indonesia will play its second match against
Japan at 3 p.m.
Meanwhile on court one, the Vietnam women's
team beat Malaysia 3-0, and on court two the Thai men's team still showed
superiority over Malaysia with a convincing score of 3-0.
