China Wins two gold medals in canoe/kayak

China
won two gold medals in the women’s singles canoe and men’s single kayak at
Majalengka Dam, West Java, on Thursday. The women’s gold was won by Shi Chen in
a time of 110.32 seconds with a four-second penalty. Xin Quan won the men’s
gold in a time of 89.39 seconds and a two-second penalty.
Meanwhile,
the women’s silver medal was won by Weihan Chen from Chinese Taipei with 110.32
seconds and a four-second penalty, with the bronze going to Atcharaporn
Duanglawa of Thailand with a time of 116.34 seconds and zero penalties.
The
men’s silver was won by Japan’s Kazuya Adachi in 90.26 seconds and a two-second
penalty. The bronze was won by Thailand naturalized athlete Ludwig Hermann
Husslein with 90.40 seconds and zero penalties.
The
women’s medals were handed out by the Asian Canoe Confederation (ACC) president
Shoken Narita, while the handover of medals for the men was carried out by the
ACC secretary-general Wai hung Luk.
The
Indonesian representatives, Reski Wahyuni, was ranked sixth out of eight
countries with 141.69 in the women’s category and Arifal came seventh with a
total time of 108.96 seconds for the men.
