Japan wins gold in Equestrian Dressage

Antara/Jakarta – Japan outperformed
South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia and Chinese Taipei in the equestrian dressage
event of the 2018 Asian Games on Monday.
In the competition held at the
Jakarta International Equestrian Park (JIEP) Pulomas, Jakarta, the Japan
equestrian dressage team secured the gold medal with a total score of 69.499
percent.
The Japan team comprises Shunsuke
Terui, Akane Kuroki, Kazuki Sado and Masanao Takahashi. Riding his horse,
Fabriano 58, Takahashi scored the highest individual score of 69.823 percent
for the team.
Japan equestrian coach Christoph
Koschel applauded his team members’ ability to cooperate and understand each
other.
"I am proud of my team today
because they were able to give consistent results," said the coach.
The silver and bronze medals
respectively went to South Korea (KOR) and Thailand. Indonesia sits in fourth
place with a score of 66.606 percent and Chinese Taipei at the bottom with
64.009 percent.
