Indonesia’s
Pramudya Yuristya, Lutfi Nurhasanah and Gina Tri Lestari have won the 11th gold
medal in pencak silat at the 2018 Asian Games.
The
women’s trio beat their opponents from Vietnam and Thailand in the final held
at Padepokan Pencak Silat at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) in East Jakarta
on Wednesday.
Pramudya,
Nurhasanah and Gina achieved the highest score of 466, just two points more
than Thi Thu Ha Nguyen, Thi Huyen Nguyen and Thi Binh Voung from Vietnam, who
had to put up with the silver medal.
Thailand
came third with a score of 448 points, earning As Ma Jeh Ma, Yuweeta Samahoh
and Ruhana Chearbuli the bronze medal.
In
this category, the martial artists have to look cohesive and powerful in their
style and moves.
The
Indonesian team did not succeed in completing all the techniques in 3 minutes,
as they ran over by 1 second, but that still proved enough to outdo their
competitors.
