Vietnamese

after defeating Malaysian Mohd Khaizul Yaacob in the final match of the 2018
Asian Games pencak silat competition at the Pencak Silat Training Center, TMII
Park, on Wednesday.
Van
Tri Nguyen scored a convincing 5-0 over his opponent in the men’s J class
90kg-95kg to win the gold, while Mohd Khaizul had to settle for a silver medal.
In
the first round, Van Tri was overwhelmed by the attacks launched by the
Malaysian fighter and lost 8-6, 8-6, 8-3, 9-4 and 8-4.
In
the second round, Van Tri tried to catch up. With the support of the
spectators, Van Tri hit his targets. The points scored by the two pesilat were
tight, namely 10-6, 8-6, 9-7, 8-6 and 8-6 in favour of the Vietnamese fighter.
