The
Republic of Korea increased its medal collection on the sixth day of the
shooting competition at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakabaring Sports City,
Palembang, on Friday.
RO
Korea's first gold came in the men's 300-meter standard rifle, with Choi
Young-jeon scoring a total of 569 points to take first place in the final on
Friday afternoon. In the same category, RO Korea’s Lee Won-gyu won the bronze
medal with a total of 563 points. The silver medal was won by Husaain Ghuwayli
of Saudi Arabia with 568 points.

Korea’s second gold came in the men's 10 m air rifle through Jeong You-jin.
In
the semifinals of this category, RO Korea shooter Jeong You-jin defeated Huu
Vuong Ngo of Vietnam, with a final score of 6-3.
Meanwhile,
in the other semifinal, Pak Myong-won from DPR Korea overthrew Cho Se-jong, a
shooter from RO Korea, with a score of 7-5. As a result, shooters from RO Korea
and DPR Korea met in the final, namely Jeong You-jin and Pak Myong-won.
In
this category, only shots that hit the target worth 9 and above are counted to
get one point. Jeong managed to get high marks with six shots, while his opponent
from DPR Korea could only get four. Jeong won gold with a score of 6-4.
The
bronze medal was won by Vietnam shooter Huu Vuong Ngo, who defeated Cho Se-jong
from South Korea with a score of 6-1.
Meanwhile,
Indonesian shooters did not win a medal.
