JAKARTA - A summary of the Match of the events held on Saturday 25 August.

General
v Indonesia has now won 10 gold medals at the Games in 2018, one fewer than its record 11 golds at the Games in 1962 in Jakarta.
v Korea (COR) won its first-ever medal at the Asian Games, bronze in the canoe/kayak sprint women’s traditional boat racing 200m event.
v Attapon KUNSA (THA) and Phadit BUREE (THA) claimed gold and silver in the runabout 1100 stock jetski event to hand Thailand its first 1-2 finish in a specific event in any sport at the Asian Games.
v Sohrab MORADI (IRI) set a world record in 94kg snatch by lifting 189kg. The previous record of 188kg had been held by Akakios KAKIAVILIS of Greece since 1999. It was the oldest standing record of the current weight classes (since 1998).

Athletics

v Men’s marathon: Hiroto INOUE (JPN) became the first Japanese athlete to win gold in the men's marathon at the Asian Games since 1986, when Takeyuki NAKAYAMA (JPN) set an Asian Games record time of 2:08:21.
v Elhassan ELABASSI (BRN) took silver to give Bahrain its first medal at the 2018 Asian Games.
v DUO Bujie (CHN) became the first athlete from China to claim a medal in the men's marathon.
v Men’s shot put: Tajinderpal Singh TOOR (IND) handed India their ninth gold medal in this event and the first since Bahadur SINGH (IND) won in 2002.
v Women’s hammer throw: LUO Na (CHN) led China's 1-2 finish in this event. The NOC has now claimed a 1-2 finish all five times this event has been held at the Asian Games.
v Women’s 10,000m: Dario MASLOVA (KGZ) gave Kyrgyzstan its fourth gold medal in Asian Games history and the second in athletics. In 2002, Tatiana EFIMENKO (KGZ) won the women's high jump.
v Kyrgyzstan has now won two gold medals at a single Asian Games for the first time. BAGYNBAI UULU Torokan (KGZ) won the ju-jitsu men's newaza -69kg event.
BMX
v Men’s individual: Yoshitaku NAGASAKO (JPN) won Japan’s first gold in the men's individual event at the Asian Games. The NOC had previously won two silver and one bronze.
v Women’s individual: ZHANG Yaru (CHN) became the second Chinese rider (men/women) to win gold in cycling BMX at the Asian Games, after MA Liyun in the women's individual in 2010.
v Wiji LESTARI (INA) became the first Indonesian rider to claim a medal in a cycling BMX event.

Bowling - Tenpin

v Men’s team of six: Republic of Korea won both the men's and women's team event. Only in 1998 (Chinese Taipei) and in 2010 (Republic of Korea) has one NOC won both team events (then team of five).
v Canoe/Kayak sprint
v Women’s TBR 200m: China won its fourth gold in traditional boat racing and remained the only NOC to have won gold medals in women's events in this discipline.
v Korea (COR) won bronze to achieve its first-ever medal at the Asian Games.
v Men’s TBR 200m: China won its first gold medal in men's traditional boat racing. The NOC has also won all four previous races at the Asian Games in women's events in traditional boat racing.

JetSki

v Runabout 1100 stock: Attapon KUNSA (THA) and Phadit BUREE (THA) claimed gold and silver to hand Thailand its first 1-2 finish in a specific event in any sport at the Asian Games.
v Slalom ski modified: Ou Moeut SALY (CAM) claimed a second gold for Cambodia at the 2018 Asian Games, after the NOC won the women's ju-jitsu newaza -49kg on Friday. It is the first time that Cambodia has won multiple gold medals at a single Asian Games.
v Ju-Jitsu
v Women’s Newaza -62kg: SUNG Kira (KOR) claimed gold. Ju-jitsu became the 41st sport at the Asian Games in which Republic of Korea has won gold.
v Men’s Newaza -62kg: Darkhan NORTAYEV (KAZ) added Asian Games gold in this event to his title at the Asian championships in 2018.
v Men’s Newaza -94kg: Faisal ALKETBI (UAE) claimed the third gold medal for United Arab Emirates at the 2018 Asian Games, equalling the NOC’s record gold tally set in 2006.

Karate

v Men’s individual kata: Riyo KIYUNA (JPN) won gold. Japan has now won five of the seven gold medals in this event at the Asian Games, but it is the first time since 2006 that it has won gold.
v Women’s individual kata: Kiyou SHIMIZU (JPN) became the second athlete to win two gold medals in the women's individual kata at the Asian Games, after Atsuko WAKAI (JPN) in 1998 and 2002.
v Japan has now won all seven gold medals in the women's individual kata at the Asian Games.
v Men’s +84kg: World champion Sajad GANJZADEH (IRI) followed in the footsteps of compatriot Zabiollah POURSHAB, who won this event in 2010. Iran became the first NOC to win this event twice at the Asian Games.
v Women’s +68kg: Ayumi UEKUSA (JPN) became the first gold medal winner for Japan in this event. Japan joins China and Kazakhstan as the NOCs to have won gold in this event.

Sepaktakraw

v Men’s team doubles: Thailand won the first men's team doubles event held at the Asian Games. It has now won 25 of the possible 36 gold medals in all sepaktakraw events at the Asian Games.
v Pornchai KAOKAEW (THA) now has 10 golds at the Asian Games and is the third athlete on at least that total, after shooter WANG Yifu (CHN, 14) and swimmer Yoshimi NISHIGAWA (JPN, 10).
v Shooting
v Men’s 10m running target mixed: PAK Myong Won (PRK) became the first shooter to win multiple gold medals in this event at the Asian Games, adding the 2018 gold to his gold in 2010.
v Dwi PUTRA Muhammad Sejahtera (INA) won silver to give Indonesia its first shooting medal at the Asian Games since 1966, when Elias Joseph LESSY took bronze in the men's 10m air rifle.
v Men's 25m rapid fire pistol: YAO Zhaonan (CHN) won gold. It is China's seventh gold medal in this event. China has now won five of the last six gold medals in this event.

Tennis

v Men’s singles: Denis ISTOMIN (UZB) became the first male athlete from Uzbekistan, and second athlete overall from the NOC, to win a tennis singles event at the Asian Games. Only Iroda TULYAGANOVA (UZB) had previously claimed gold (women's singles in 2002).
v WU Yibing (CHN) took silver to give China a medal in the men's singles at the Asian Games for the first time since 1994, when PAN Bing (CHN) won his second gold medal in a row in this event.
v Women’s doubles: China won its third gold in the event at the Asian Games (2018, 1998, 2006).
v Chinese Taipei took silver and CHAN Yungjan (TPE) became the first player to have won four medals in the women's doubles at the Asian Games.
v Mixed doubles: Indonesia won its second gold in the mixed doubles, after 1990. It is the NOC’s first gold in any tennis event since 2002 when it won the women's team competition.
v Indonesia has now won 10 gold medals at the Games in 2018, one fewer than its record 11 golds at the Games in 1962 in Jakarta.
Weightlifting

v Men’s 94kg: Sohrab MORADI (IRI) won gold and recorded a snatch world record (189kg). It was Iran’s first gold medal in this event. Since the introduction of the current weight categories in 1998, Iran has now won gold in three different events.
v Women’s 69kg: RIM Un Sim (PRK) won gold for DPR Korea. It was the first time since the introduction of the current weight classes in 1998 that an NOC other than China won the event.
