Indonesia won another gold medal after beating Japan 2-1 in a fierce final match of the 2018 Asian Games sepak takraw men’s quadrant category.

In the match at Jakabaring Sports City in Palembang, South Sumatra, on Saturday, Indonesia won two sets, with a score of 15-21 in the first set, 21-14 in the second set, and 21-16 in the third set.

"In the first set we were a bit off guard, particularly in blocking the opponent’s shots. In the second set, I instructed the players to strengthen the blocking trick, with two or three assigned to block. Thank God, this had a positive result," said Indonesia team coach Asry Syam after the match.

Indonesia’s sepak takraw team has won a total of five medals; one gold, one silver and two bronze medals from the men’s team and one bronze from the women’s team.
