China Win gold In Women’s double 500-meter

China dominated the canoe and kayak sprint finals on Thursday, securing four out of six golds on offer.

Ma Yanan and Sun Mengya won the first gold for China in the women's canoe double 500-meter final at the Jakabaring Rowing and Canoeing Regatta Course in Palembang, South Sumatra.

Li Yue grabbed China’s second gold in the women's kayak single 500 m final.

In the men’s category, China duo Zhang Dong and Bu Tingkai won the kayak double 1,000 m event, while compatriots Liuh Hao and Wang Hao sealed victory in the men's canoe double 1,000 m final.

Indonesia pair Andriyani Riska and Meni Nur pocketed bronze in the women's canoe double 500 m final.

Twenty-two countries competed for 15 gold medals in the canoe and kayak sprint events.

International Canoe Federation vice president Thomas Konietzko said the participating countries included Cambodia, which made its debut in the canoe sprint category this year.
