Kazakhstan wins gold in women's 68kg sambo

Jakarta, Sept. 1 (Antara) - Kazakhstan sambo fighter, Dildash Kuryshbayeva, defeated Uzbekistan's Nilufar Davletova 3-0 to win the women's -68kg gold medal at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) in Senayan, Jakarta, on Saturday.

The 24-year-old Dildash presented the second gold in sambo for Kazakhstan, making it the only country to win multiple gold medals in this sport at the Asian Games.

Since the first minute of the final match, Dildash intensely sought her opponent's weakness and attacked aggressively. Dildash managed to perform a lock, which earned her one point.

In the fourth and last minute of the match, Dildash earned more points after bringing Nilufar to the mat.

Nilufar battled back but her efforts were to no avail. Dildash easily read and anticipated Nilufar’s attacks.
