Kazakhstan women's water polo team
crushed Hong Kong, China 22-2 in the 2018 Asian Games water polo match at the
Gelora Bung Karno Aquatic Center, Jakarta, on Sunday.
Novikova Anna and Myrzabekova Zamira
scored the most goals for Kazakhstan, each with four goals, followed by several
others with three and two goals each.
Kazakhstan, an underdog at the 2018
Asian Games women's water polo, dominated the game from the first round, which
finished 7-0.
Entering the second quarter, Hong
Kong withstood a number of Kazakhstan attacks, with Zharkimbayeva Alexandra and
her teammates only adding three goals, while Hong Kong scored one through Chan
Sze Ting, ending the quarter 10-1.
Hong Kong’s goal in the second
quarter boosted Zhao Jin Wen's team's spirit, as they added another goal
through Leung Nga Gwen, but they were overwhelmed as Kazakhstan closed the
third quarter with a score of 17-2.
In the fourth quarter, Kazakhstan
closed the match with a final score of 22-2.
This victory is the second for
Naurazbekov's players after previously beating Thailand 13-4.
This victory also meant Kazakhstan
secured four points at the 2018 Asian Games from the two wins against Thailand
and Hong Kong.
