China Wins gold In diving title

Chinese female diver Si Yajie defended her 10-meter platform diving title at the  2018 Asian Games at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK)’s Aquatic Stadium in Jakarta on Thursday.

The 19-year-old Si chalked up a total of 405.45 points, outperforming compatriot Zhang Jiaqi,who collected 395.30 points to take home the silver medal.

"I focus on myself instead of worrying about other divers. There is no point in overthinking," said Si, a 2016 Olympic silver medalist.

Si first won the gold medal in the event in the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, with a total of 394.25 points.

DPR Korea's Kim Mi-rae took home the bronze medal with 367.90 points, a narrow lead from the 367.45 points posted by her compatriot Kim Kuk-Hyang.

China diving team also dominated the men's category after Peng Jianfeng collected 462.15 points to take home the 1-m springboard gold.

Peng’s junior, Liu Chengming, won the silver. He did not perform well in third and sixth diving attempts and ended up with a total score of 432.85 points.

Woo Haram presented the bronze to Republic of Korea (KOR) after securing 382.70 points.
