Iranian athlete Mohammadali Geraei
secured his country's fourth gold medal in the 2018 Asian Games Greco-Roman
wrestling 77 kg category after defeating Kyrgyzstan wrestler Akzhol Makhmudov
on Wednesday night.
In the final match held at the

technical points and 3-1 in classification points.
He joined the earlier achievements
of his three compatriots, namely in the freestyle 86 kg category by Hassan
Yazdanicharati, the men's 97 kg category by Alireza Kariminachiani and Parviz
Hadibasmanj in the 125 kg category.
The first golds were obtained on the
first day of the competition on Sunday (Aug. 19), while an additional gold was
obtained on Monday (Aug. 20).
Geraei started out the match
aggressively and tried several times to slam, but got fierce opposition from
Makhmudov.
In the first three minutes, the
Iranian wrestler took a 7-2 lead on technical points, but in the second three
minutes it was the turn of the Kyrgyztan wrestler to make moves to slam the
opponent, even though he could not win any points.
Iran takes home the gold medal,
while Kyrgyzstan gets the silver. The two bronze medals were won by South Korea
wrestler Kim Hyeonwoo after defeating Uzbekistan wrestler Bilan Nalgiev, as
well as China wrestler Yang Bin after defeating Japanese wrestler Shohei
Yabiku.
