Uzbekistan
won two gold medals on the last day of the kurash events, with the finals
taking place at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) Assembly Hall, Jakarta, on
Thursday night.
Kurash
at the Asian Games involved the women's -78 kilogram and men's -90 kg category.
The
women's -78 kg gold was won by Kumush Yuldashova after defeating Mongolian
athlete Munkhtsetseg Otgon 10-0.
The
bronze medal was won by Hsientzu Yang from Chinese Taipei and Thi Lan Nguyen
from Vietnam.
Uzbekistan's
second gold was presented by Yakhyo Imamov in the men’s 90 kg after beating
compatriot Shermukhammad Jandreev 0-5.
Yersultam
Muzapparov from Kazakhstan and Husein Misri from Kuwait won bronze.
The
wins showed the dominance of Uzbekistan in the sport, where kurash originates
from.
The
Indonesian contingent comprising Muhammad Dhifa Alfais (men’s -90 kg),
Marselina Papara (women’s -78 kg), Putu Wiradamungga Adesta (men’s -90 kg) and
Szalsza Maulida (women’s -78 kg) failed to win any medals.
