Japan Wins gold In Men's omnium

Japanese
cyclist Eiya Hashimoto won a gold medal in the men’s omnium category of the
2018 Asian Games cycling track competition at the Jakarta International
Velodrome, East Jakarta, on Thursday.
Hashimoto
came out as the cyclist who collected the highest points from four categories
which were contested in the omnium with 119 points.
The
omnium track consists of four disciplines, namely the scratch, tempo,
elimination and points race, which must be completed properly. It means that
points from the four events are collected to determine the position of cyclists
in the standings.
The
scale of points given in the first three races is 40 for the first, 38 for the
second and 36 for the third.
Meanwhile,
the silver medal of the men's omnium category was won by Hong Kong, China
cyclist Chun Wing Leung with 114 points, followed by Kazakhstan cyclist Artyom
Zakharov in third place with 112 points to secure the bronze medal.
Indonesian
cyclist Nandra Eko Wahyudi finished 14th with 54 points.
