Mongolia, Kazakhstan Win gold In sambo

Mongolia and Kazakhstan won one gold medal each on the first day of the sambo competition at the 2018 Asian Games, which was held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday evening.

Mongolia won the gold medal through its female athlete Narantsetseg Ganbaatar, who defeated her compatriot Oidovchimed Baasansuren in the women’s sambo -48 kilogram final with the score 3-0.

Meanwhile, Kazakhstan won the gold medal through Baglan Ibragim in the men’s sambo 52 kg after defeating Mongolian Endenebaatar Shaaluu in the final match with the score of 4-0.

The men’s 52 kg final was dramatic as the Mongolian initially led 4-0 after slamming Ibragim on the mat. 

However, Ibragim narrowed the score to 2-4 before he launched a deadly locking technique that led Shaaluu to submit. The referee declared Baglan Ibragim the winner.
