defeated Indonesia in the 2018 Asian Games women’s beach volleyball event in
the Jakabaring Sport City Arena in Palembang, South Sumatra, on Saturday.
The
China team comprises Fan Wang and Xinyi Xia, who defeated Desi Ratnasari and
Yokebed Purari Eka from Indonesia in straight sets with a score of 2-0.
In
the first set, the China pair continuously launched hard smashes, winning
21-16.
Their
domination continued in the second set, which they finished with a score of
21-14.
"Our
reach is shorter than them. The Chinese pair is stronger and taller. This was
our first meeting in competition," said Desi Ratnasari.
She
said, however, that they were grateful to be able to enter the quarterfinals.
"We
are grateful to be in the quarterfinals," she said.
Meanwhile,
the Kazakhstan women's pair [names unreported] conquered another Chinese pair,
Xinxin Wang and Jinjin Zeng, in three sets with a score of 2-1 in a separate
match at the beach volleyball event at the Jakabaring Sport City Arena in
Palembang.
