Chinese
pole vaulter Ling Li cleared a record-breaking 4.60 meters to bring home the
gold medal in the women’s pole vault event at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium,
Jakarta, on Tuesday night.
Li's
jump shattered the previous Asian Games (Asiad) record of 4.35 m, which she had
set at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea.
Thai
athlete Chayanisa Chomchuendee pocketed the silver with a 4.30 m jump, while
Lim Eun-ji from the Republic of Korea (KOR) secured the silver with a 4.20 m
jump.
Indonesian
pole vaulter Diva Renata Jayadi finished in last place with a jump of 3.55 m.
