China has once again showed its prowess in the pool by winning the gold medal in the women's artistic team event in the 2018 Asian Games.

Clad in red swimsuits with black accents, eight Chinese swimmers grabbed the attention of 15 judges at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) aquatic center in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Feng Yu, Guo Li, Liang Xinping, Wang Liuyi, Wang Qianyi, Xiao Yanning and Yin Chengxin stole the show after accumulating 186.9395 points in the technical and free routines

The gold medals reinforce the dominance of China, which has always ranked first since the women's artistic swimming team event debuted in the 2006 Doha Asian Games.

Japan grabbed the silver medal after scoring 182.8690 points, while DPR Korea took home the bronze with 170.8475 points.
